Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the RecoverHelper software application (“Software”) and the recoverhelper.com website (“Site”), provided to you (“User”, “you”) by RecoverHelper (“we”, “us”). By downloading, installing, or using the Software you agree to these Terms.

1. License grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software:

• Free version: for personal or internal business use, with the feature set described on the Site;
• Pro version: after a one-time purchase, on a single computer (one license — one PC), permanently, with lifetime updates for the same major product line.

2. Restrictions

You agree not to: (a) reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software except to the extent permitted by mandatory law; (b) sublicense, rent, lease or sell access to the Software; (c) remove or alter any proprietary notices; (d) use the Software to violate the rights of any third party or to recover data you do not have lawful authorization to access.

3. Purchases and payments

Pro licenses are sold by our Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy, who is responsible for processing your payment, calculating and remitting any applicable taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax), and providing tax invoices. By completing a purchase you also agree to Lemon Squeezy’s terms.

5. Updates

We may release updates that fix bugs, add features, or change behavior. We make reasonable efforts to maintain backward compatibility but do not guarantee that any specific feature will remain available in all future versions.

6. Privacy

Use of the Software and the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. DATA RECOVERY OUTCOMES DEPEND ON FACTORS BEYOND OUR CONTROL (DISK CONDITION, FILESYSTEM STATE, OVERWRITES) AND WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY SPECIFIC FILE WILL BE RECOVERABLE.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SOFTWARE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA OR PROFITS.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and destroy installed copies.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Software after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
