1. Information We Collect

RecoverHelper is free and does not require an account or payment. When you pair the desktop app with our mobile app to unlock all formats, the Software transmits a pairing token, an anonymized machine identifier (a SHA-256 hash, not personally identifiable on its own), and your IP address to our servers.

This website and our mobile app use Google AdSense / AdMob to display advertising. These services may use cookies and device identifiers to serve and measure ads. See Google’s advertising policy for details, and manage ad personalization at Google Ad Settings. We also use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic.

2. What We Do Not Collect

The desktop Software does not upload, scan, transmit, or otherwise process the contents of files on your computer. All recovery operations are performed locally. We never see your recovered photos or videos.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described above solely to (a) enable format unlocking through app pairing, (b) prevent abuse, (c) display advertising that funds the free Software, and (d) respond to support requests.

4. Data Retention

Pairing and verification logs are retained only as long as needed to operate the service. You may request deletion of your data by emailing us, subject to legal obligations.

5. Third Parties

We share data only with advertising providers (Google AdSense / AdMob), analytics, and infrastructure providers (server hosting). Voluntary donations, if you choose to make one, are handled by a third-party donation platform under its own privacy policy. We do not sell personal information.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. GDPR/CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.
